Coach Teon Knox, known throughout the community as “Coach Knox”, is the founder and driving force behind Arise Above Basketball. His journey through the game is built on experience, discipline, and passion for developing the next generation of athletes.

Coach Knox was a four-year collegiate basketball player and earned induction into the Hall of Fame at the University of Pikeville for his outsanding impact and performance. He went on to play 16 years of professional basketball overseas, competing across Europe and South America, gaining invaluable experience at the highest levels of the game.

After his professional career, Coach Knox dedicated himself to giving back. He has coached at Howard High School in Ellicott City, MD for the past three years and has eight years of AAU coaching experience, leading teams to multiple winning seasons. Known for his ability to bring out the best in every player, he has helped countless athletes grow in skill, confidence, and character.

At Arise Above, Coach Knox teaches more than basketball. He teaches resilience, accountability and the mindset required to rise above adversity—both on and off the court. His mission is simple—build disciplined athletes, strong leaders and confident young men who understand that success comes from putting the work in.
